R&D project in collaboration with the Charité University Hospital in Berlin
XION works with the Department of Audiology and Phoniatrics at Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin (Charité) for a joint R&D project in the field of optical medicine.
In the voice diagnostics an enlarged 3D observation of vocal fold movement in slow motion is requested. Due to the high technical difficulty, however, a suitable process and the corresponding equipment technology for this are still lacking. Currently, the stereoscopy is limited to the observation of the larynx by means of surgical microscope under anesthesia. Despite of dormant vocal cords, only with this method some findings can be sufficiently drawn.
The objective of the R&D project is the development of a new endoscopic device system which allows such a difficult diagnosis for the first time without anesthesia and provides 3D video display of the vocal fold motion.
